HEALTH & SAFETY

The West Nile Rural Electrification Company (WENRECo) warns the public to be vigilant and report cases of fallen, rotten, and leaning electricity poles. Parents are encouraged to caution children against playing in waterlogged areas closed to electricity installations in their premises.

  • We appeal to the public to be alert and report all incidences of illegal connection and vandalism in their areas. This will help us to minimize the increasing cases of electricity related fatality arising from illegal connections and vandalism.
  • Schools and other institutions are encouraged to use certified electricians to check and repair broken cables, open sockets and loose connections that is the main cause of fire outbreak and fatality in the areas.
  • Please report cases of vegetation growth along the power line and be aware that vegetation clearance is a sole responsibility of WENRECo.
